First stop: Laser tag
So there we all are with Henry's arm while Frances was taking our picture. Everyone thought laser tagging was tiring, but I for one felt we were a tad too many. We were put together in the arena with 11 other people, excluding us. It was still spacious but it's like everywhere you turn, there's always someone beside you or behind you, but it was fun all the same. Henry was recounting how he just sat down in one corner and tagged a lot of people. He ended up getting first place and a free glass of iced tea. I ended up at 6th place. Not too shabby. Heh.
Next stop: Lunch at Kabisera
Oh, this hifalutin place that served Filipino dishes was way too expensive for my taste. The food was delicious but don't get me started on how much I spent on this one. Don't. Just don't.
Next stop: Fully Booked and Jamba Juice
I was completely ecstatic when we went to Fully Booked. I remember saying the words, "Ah, four floors of heaven." when I walked in there yesterday. And it was. Shelves and shelves of books were just lined up along the walls, it was like being in a library but better-smelling and more expensive. Haw. However, people got bored pretty quickly so we went for drinks to Jamba Juice. This was one hell of an experience.
So there was Frances (the sexy momma in the picture), ordering one of every drink for us (since it was all our first time and we didn't know which ones tasted good), when one waitress found out she was treating for her birthday. They asked which drink was Frances' and generously upsized her drink for her. That is why I plan to go to Jamba Juice on my birthday next year. Heh. Anyway, that one waitress gave us our drinks and gave us plenty of time to soak up all the flavors of the different drinks. I got the Peach Pleasure drink and thought it was pretty good. Later, we felt it necessary to taste each other's drinks to find out which ones taste good and which ones sucked. The best drink was the birthday girl's up there: Strawberry Wild, which kind of tasted like strawberries with milk. The worst one we tasted was Bea's: Strawberry Surf Rider? or Blaster? I'm not quite sure about the name, but I'm pretty sure it tasted horrible. Too sour for all our tastes. Blech. That one waitress, who we later found out was Henry's schoolmate, asked us for our opinion on the drinks since it was our first time. We told her we hated Bea's drink the most. She thanked us and left, later coming back to give Bea another drink. The waitress told us that she felt bad that all of us were enjoying our drinks while Bea wasn't, so she intentionally made another drink (just like Frances') for Bea to enjoy. Turns out it was their policy, that if their customers aren't satisfied with their drinks, the staff will gladly make the customers another drink. Talk about service.
Last stop: No stop
After all this, we decided to take a walk. Everyone was hopped up on how awesome Frances' camera was so we decided to have a photo shoot. Haw.
Here's a picture of us girls with me looking like I got hit by the volleyball that Henry so nicely threw in our direction. Take note: It looked like it hit me, but it did not! N-O-T. NOT.
All I can say here is, "Jumpshots are so mainstream."
Here's me, representing UP Manila, and my good friend Lindsley, representing UP Diliman, spelling out the initials of our alma mater. Look at how great my hair looks here. Hahaha.
After that, we played volleyball a little. It was quite embarrassing how much we had to run for the ball but we didn't care. It's been a long time since we played and we all had fun just tossing the ball around again.
Truly, I feel blessed now more than ever, and I cannot ask for more. I hope to spend more time with these people again and the rest of Syntrique soon! :)
